Design & Build
In terms of design, the Zebronics Zeb-Zappy has a very unique look. The speaker is very compact with a rectangle-shaped body that can be easy to wear or tossed into a bag or your pocket. Overall, it has a sporty look with the mix of grey, white and orange colours. The build of the speaker is pretty good and sturdy as well. Inside the box, we also get a strep belt that can be fixed on either side to wear this Bluetooth speaker.
Moving on to the front of the speaker it has a speaker grill with a Zebronics branding in the middle. Having said that, it has a small blue LED light inside the grill to show the status. At the top, we have the volume controls (also used to go to the next and previous tracks), power button and play/pause button.
At the bottom, it has a USB port for charging and a MicroSD card slot (32GB). There is also a camera shutter mode button for a selfie (You can click selfie from your phone’s front camera). The all controls and slot covered with a rubber strap which protect this Bluetooth speaker from rain and dust. It measures 93 x 55 x 23 mm and weighs around 71 grams.
The procedure to connect Zebronics Zeb-Zappy with your mobile phone is same and easy as any other device. You need to press and hold the power button for 3 seconds. Then, you will hear that the speaker is in the Bluetooth mode. Also, a blue LED indicator will blink from within the grill at the front. Now, you need to turn on Bluetooth on your phone and search for the speaker. Over here, the device with the name Zebronics Zeb-Zappy has to be tapped to pair the speaker with your smartphone.
This speaker can be used with Bluetooth 4.2. Moreover, it also has a built-in mic that can be used to make or take calls even if your phone is far away. The call button can be used to accept an incoming call and the call quality is quite good.
Coming to the battery, I got around 2.5 hours on a single charge (2 hours) with a variation in volume levels, which is pretty decent in this case.
During our real-time usage, I paired this speaker with Oneplus 6 and the Zebronics Zeb-Zappy performance is pretty decent for its price range. It has an output power of 3W which offers clear sound. Also, it is very loud and offers a strong bass output compared to its small size. It can go fairly loud that it can enough for 2-3 persons while doing exercise in an open environment. Oveall, the sounds quality is acceptable and decent enough to enjoy your daily sports activity.
On the whole, if you are looking out for a wearable Bluetooth speaker in the price range, the Zebronics Zeb-Zappy will serve your purpose. More information please check full review video on my Youtube channel: Geekman.
