OPPO Enco Air 2 Pro

Oppo has recently launched these latest TWS earbuds in the Indian market, and you can buy them for Rs. 3,499. They are available in White and Gray color variants. They feature 12.4 mm drivers and cool new features like ANC, transparency mode, and game mode.
The charging case has a glossy body and a transparent finish, making it pretty good-looking. The case has a USB Type-C port and an LED indicator indicating battery and connectivity status.
These earbuds are lightweight and have in-ear silicone tips that nicely fit into your ears and can be worn for long hours without any signs of ear fatigue. They come with touch and gesture controls which I personally like them for. They automatically pause a video once the earbuds are taken out and start it again when you put them back in. You can also control media using the touch controls placed on the earbuds.
The 12.4 mm titanium-coated diaphragm drivers sound pretty good and offer an overall balanced sound quality. The bass output is also good, and you can get an enhanced bass output using the compatible application. Talking about the application, the compatible app is called HeyMelody, which will give you access to extra features like ANC mode, Transparent mode, and more. The microphone also does a good job recording your audio and can be used for meetings or calls, although it struggles a bit when the environment is windy.
These wireless earbuds alone can give you a battery life of about 7 hours on a single charge, and meanwhile, with the charging case, you can get up to 28 hours of total battery life with the ANC turned off. The Oppo Enco Air 2 Pro is a feature-rich earbud, making it one of India’s best wireless earbuds under 5000 Rs.

OnePlus Buds Z2

OnePlus Buds Z2 has recently launched earbuds that you get for under Rs. 5,000 in India. The Buds Z2 is an update to the OnePlus Buds Z, launched in 2020, and has made quite an impressive number of changes. The OnePlus Buds Z2 is available in two different colors – Pearl White and Obsidian Black.
The OnePlus Buds Z2 looks exactly similar to the previous OnePlus Buds Z with a similar charging case that is pill-shaped and has a glossy finish over it. The new thing is that the Buds Z2 has a black variant that wasn’t there on the OnePlus Buds Z. Although the glossy black variant would be prone to fingerprints and scratches, you can go with the Pearl White variant, which has a matty finish over it. The case also has a physical button for pairing, which is handy.
The part that I like the most of that the wireless earbuds weigh about 4.5 grams each which makes them pretty comfortable and can be worn for several hours without worrying about your ears hurting. The other good features include active noise cancellation, which works like a charm and cancels out all noises up to 40 decibels. You also get three modes: Transparency mode, Noice Cancellation mode, and Max Noise Cancellation mode. You can use the HeyMelody app to get all the customizations on your phone, and if you have a OnePlus device, then you get an extra feature: the low latency mode.
Another good thing is that the case and the earbuds both are IP certified, which is pretty rare to see in earbuds under 5000. The earbuds are IP55 certified; meanwhile, the case is IPX4 which means you can take them to your swimming sessions without a second thought.
Now coming to the sound quality, the 11 mm driver does an excellent job of delivering a loud and punchy bass output. The mids feel slightly overpowered by the treble, and the highs sound slightly sharp, which I don’t like.
The earbuds individually can give you a battery life of about 7 hours on a single charge and with the ANC turned off. Meanwhile, with the charging case, you can get a battery life of up to 38 hours on a single charge. Overall, the OnePlus Buds Z2 is feature-rich and surely one of the best wireless earbuds under 5000.

JBL Tune 130NC And 230NC

Moving on to the next truly wireless earbuds on our list, we have the JBL Tune 130NC and 230 NC. Both earbuds are almost the same in terms of sound quality and features. The only difference is the design of the earbuds; I highly recommend JBL Tune 230NC for better comfort and fitting.
Now let’s talk about the prime selling point of these earbuds, the sound quality. The 10mm large driver delivers very clear and balanced audio. I can easily say that this is one of the best sound quality that you can get in this price range. Of course, this applies only to TWS. The bass response is also good and adds a good amount of thump to the audio, enhancing your overall experience. Overall, the sound quality is very clear, with a good amount of detail.
Check JBL Tune 130NC Review.
It also comes with a compatible app, which you can use to customize your earbuds as per your requirements. The app is pretty good and has a bunch of useful customizations like an equalizer and multiple sound modes like bass-boosted mode and vocal mode. Yes, you also have the option to create your own audio mode.
Apart from this, the JBL tune 130NC & 230NC also comes with ANC and transparent mode. The ANC performance is decent and justifies the price tag. Another selling point of the earbuds is good battery life, and you can expect about 40 hours of battery life which is pretty good compared to other similarly priced wireless earbuds.
If sound quality is your main priority, then JBL tune 130NC and 230NC is a perfect choice.

Realme Buds Air 3

Next on our list is the Realme Buds Air 3, the latest addition to Realme’s Buds Air TWS series. Realme offers these earbuds under Rs. 4,000 in India with exciting new features like dual-connectivity, Google’s fast pair service support, and active noise cancellation.
The charging case and the earbuds are made of plastic but do not feel cheap at all. They come with a glossy plastic body that feels comfortable when plugged into ears. The earbuds are IPX5 certified, which makes them resistant to a few water splashes. The charging case has an LED indicator at the front along with a Type-C port at the bottom to charge your case.
The earbuds are lightweight, securely fit in your ears, and do not come off that easily, making them suitable for people who want to use them at the gym. Meanwhile, the touch controls on the earbuds are very responsive and work pretty well in day-to-day usage. The good thing is that you can easily customize the touch controls using its compatible Realme Link app. The app gives you features like an audio enhancer and game mode.
The earbuds also have automatic in-ear detection, which means they pause the media when taken off your ear and start again as soon as you put them back. The earbud houses a 10 mm dynamic driver, which gives loud and punchy audio. The bass is pretty well-balanced, which enhances the overall audio experience.
The ANC is one of the biggest pros of these earbuds, and Realme says it can cut out noise for up to 42 decibels which works pretty impressively I would even say is the best in this price segment. The microphone also works pretty well and does a pretty impressive job of recording the audio when compared to the other earbuds in the same price segment. Overall, the Realme Buds Air 3 has everything that makes it one of the best TWS earbuds under 5000 Rs that you can buy in India.

Jabra Elite 2

Moving down on our list of best earbuds under 5000, we have the Jabre Elite 2, one of the most affordable ones on our list. It has a unique design and is available in two colors: Dark Grey and Navy blue.
The charging case has a matte finish and looks pretty good, but the build quality feels a bit average. Meanwhile, the truly wireless earbuds have a triangular shape and a clicky button. The buttons are hard to press and, therefore, uncomfortable to use. If you put the buttons aside, the TWS earbuds are pretty comfortable to wear and fit perfectly enough not to fall during your workout sessions. They are IP55 certified, so that you can use them in your sweaty workouts without a second thought.
Now coming on to the sound quality, the Jabra Elite 2 sounds pretty good, with a balanced amount of treble and bass. The bass is a bit punchy but does not overpower your tracks, which is good. It still does not come with the active noise cancellation you must expect, but it’s okay for this price range.
These truly wireless earbuds alone have a battery life of about 7 hours on a full charge and up to 21 hours with the charging case, which is a pretty decent battery life at this price point. The Jabra Elite 2 is a good, truly wireless earbuds under 5000.

OnePlus Nord Buds

Next on our list would be another TWS from the OnePlus, called the OnePlus Nord Buds which costs less than Rs. 3,000 and is available in Blue, Black, and White color variants. These are the most affordable earbuds that OnePlus has to offer. What interests me the most is that it comes with four microphones with AI noise reduction, which really helps out to cut out background noises from your calls.
The Nord Buds flaunts a very minimal yet elegant-looking charging case which I prefer as they look more premium compared to some other flashy-looking TWS. On the other hand, earbuds have a little glossy finish, which looks quite lovely. They are lightweight and comfortable, making them wearable for long hours. The earbuds come with IP55 dust and water resistance which is a plus point.
These earbuds house 12.4 mm Titanium drives, delivering excellent sound quality with powerful bass output. Yes, the bass does overpower some other frequencies, but the good thing is that you can easily manage that using the HeyMelody app’s Sound Master EQ feature. Since we are discussing the mobile app, the HeyMelody is one of the most optimized TWS companion apps I have tested in this price segment. It has a simple interface that allows you to manage your TWS without hassles.
These earbuds come with fast charging support and offer a battery life of about 7 hours on a single charge which is pretty decent for its price. Overall the OnePlus Nord Buds are a good pair of TWS that you can get at this price range.

CROSSBEATS Torq

The next we have on our list is the Crossbeats Torq which comes with huge 18mm drivers and wireless charging, which is pretty to find at this price point. Crossbeats offer them in a single black color variant.
The charging case is rectangular and has a textured finish over it that looks pretty good and feels solid; meanwhile, the TWS earbuds fit nicely and are pretty comfortable even for long hours. They are IPX6 certified, so you can use them in your workout sessions. These wireless earbuds have touch controls on them which works pretty well.
Now let’s talk about the sound quality; the 18 mm drivers sound good and are pretty loud when turned to the max volume making it almost impossible to bear. Although the good thing is the audio does not distort even at that high volume. The bass is pretty good, but the mids and treble feel a bit off, which audiophiles would not appreciate.
These wireless earbuds have a battery life of about 12 hours on a full charge which is pretty impressive for the price. Meanwhile, you get about 36 hours of battery life with the case. Overall, the Crossbeats Torq is a good option if you want wireless charging with decent sound output.

Soundcore by Anker Life Dot 2

Finally, we have the Soundcore by Anker Life Dot 2 on our list of best earbuds under 5000 Rs. These TWS earbuds come with active noise cancellation and have four mics for calling, which is as impressive as it sounds.
The charging case is rectangular and has a matte finish over it. These earbuds have a glossy plastic body that looks pretty good and comes with multiple ear wings that you can choose to get a perfect fit. They fit pretty well and can be used during sports and running. They are IPX5 certified, meaning you get a decent level of water resistance. You get button controls instead of touch controls, which works pretty nicely.
Moving on to the sound quality, these earbuds come with 8 mm drivers, which sounds pretty decent. The bass sounds punchy and good. Meanwhile, the mids sound pretty natural. The vocals and lead instruments sound pretty clear. Although you have no customizations with these wireless earbuds, it is okay for the price it asks.
The best part about these TWS earbuds is their battery life. It comes with a massive 750 mAh battery which is housed in the charging case. The earbuds individually can last for about 8 hours on a full charge and with the case included, the total jumps to 100 hours which is a pretty big number. TWS Earbuds Buying Guide:
As you would have already figured out, there are many options in the market for Wireless Earbuds, too many, some could say. All major mobile manufacturers are trying their hand in this segment and bringing out their version of a “Truly Wireless Earbud,” some of them are genuinely good, and some of them are so bad that the manufacturer should consider discontinuing them.
Without proper due diligence, you could end up regret purchasing the wrong pair of earbuds for yourself. You would have to be extra careful while making your purchase because this is something you would use every day; if you end up with the wrong option, you will curse yourself for buying the wrong one every time you put them in your ears!
Here are a few pointers to keep in mind when you’re in the market looking for a pair of Wireless Earbuds for yourself:
Cost: This is probably the most important factor when you are out looking for anything; for that matter, this is the basis or the foundation of the rest of your purchase criteria. You can find earbuds for all budgets; some cheap yet amazing options, and some really expensive options are not worth the money. You must be very careful while searching, not just blindly looking at the price and deciding which one you would opt for. Look for other criteria as well before deciding which one you would buy.
Codec Support: This is a little technical; discover which codecs are supported on the earbuds you plan to buy. Most earbuds support the SBC codec, which does not support high-resolution audio transmission. If you are an Apple user, make sure the earbud you purchase supports the AAC codec, so buying an earbud that only supports SBC is a waste of time and money. You do not have to worry, as Android supports most Bluetooth codecs if you are an Android user.
Battery Life: Another important aspect to consider when purchasing a wireless earbud. What is the point of spending a good amount of money on brand-new earbuds when they do not last long and would have to stay connected to power sources most of the time?
Manufacturers often mention playback time of 3 to 5 hours. Well, it is not very accurate; it is safe to reduce at least 20% off that number and then consider if it’s a good fit for you. Also, check if there are additional benefits, such as the fast-charging option available for the earbuds, which would decrease the time the earbuds need to stay connected for charging.
Fit and Finish: Another important detail that cannot be overlooked if you spend a considerable amount of money; is how it looks and feels in your ear. Because if the earbuds don’t feel good in your ears, you probably won’t wear them for long, and if you won’t wear them for longer durations, what’s the use of buying them? You need to look at all the options in your budget and, if possible, head down to their stores and try to get a feel by holding it and finding the right fit.
Controls: When I say controls, I mean if the earbuds have the option of having control functionality on the earbuds themselves. This feature is useful because if you have this option, you wouldn’t have to use your phone to control the media being played on the earbuds; you could directly control them through the earbuds themselves. Almost all manufacturers are adding some functionality feature to their earbuds. Make sure you choose earbuds with functionality features that are useful to you.
Active Noise Cancelling: Nowadays, almost all earbuds have their version of ANC built into them. It has become a necessary feature that users demand from manufacturers. Although having ANC eats up the battery a lot quicker, it is up to you if you want ANC feature in your earbuds and sacrifice a little on the battery life or give up ANC for long-lasting battery performance of the earbuds; one more thing to consider, earbuds without ANC feature are usually tagged with a lesser price than earbuds which have the ANC feature.
Charging Case: The charging case is as important as the earbuds themselves. If the case is not sturdy, the protection of the earbuds would be questioned. If the case does not look good and robust, it will stick out like a sore thumb, which is not desirable. Manufacturers must be able to perfectly manage to create a case that is both sturdy yet good-looking, and at the same time, they should not be too chunky or big. It should be compact enough to fit in everyone’s pockets and easy to carry for daily use. When looking for a pair of earbuds, keep this in mind as well.
Volume: One of the last but important aspects that should not be missed is the earbuds’ volume. Not all earbuds have the same volume output capacity; some are louder than others, so for this reason, I would suggest going to a physical store and trying them out before purchasing.
Purchasing them online, you would never know what the volume output is and would later regret it because, unlike wired headphones, their volume could be increased by using a portable headphone amplifier. You would not get such an option with your new wireless earbuds. So be very careful while buying them and try them once before finally choosing one.
These are some things I look out for when buying a pair of earbuds for myself. Everyone’s list of priorities would be different; they would have certain needs different than mine. But this is just an example of what things to look out for. Once you know what you need in your earbud, create your list and make sure you purchase one that ticks off most of the list you have created.
