Design & Build
Talking about the design, the FOXSKY FS101 has got a huge rectangular box design with a wooden body. Usually, you find plastic, but the use of wood gives you not only a classy look but a slightly improved sound as well. It has dustproof mesh grill cloth on the front. There is also Foxsky branding on the front and there are two 10W cones that are clearly visible.
The Speaker weighs around 1.3 kg and measures 15 x 5 x 3.5 inch, so It isn’t too portable, although the build is definitely impressive and feels solid.
On top, we have three buttons Volume down/Previous track, Play/ Pause, and Volume up/next track. You can also change connectivity modes using the power button (long press). There is also an LED indicator light, which shows you all the connectivity status
Moving to the rear, we have a Power switch, Micro USB port for a charge, Full USB port, MicroSD card slot and 3.5mm audio jack. At the bottom, we have four strips of rubber that let the speaker grip on the surface quite well, even on the full volume it doesn’t move.
Connectivity
The procedure to connect the FOXSKY FS101 is the same and easy as any other Bluetooth speakers. Search for FS 101 and then Tap to connect. Until the speaker is connected, you’ll see a blue colour LED flickering and once it’s connected the speaker confirms with a voice sound saying Connected.
If in case, you want to connect your MP3 player to this speaker, you can opt for the Aux port on the back of the speaker. It also has a USB port and MicroSD slot, so you can directly play music from pen drive and SD card. For FM connectivity use given Aux cable. The wireless range/Bluetooth range is 10 meters, similar to most other speakers.
Battery
The FOXSKY FS 101 Bluetooth Speaker is powered by 2000 mAh battery under the hood. As per the company claims, it can offer up to 6 hours at 60% volume and most certainly it did.
Sound quality
Coming to the audio quality, the FOXSKY FS 101 speaker can go fairly loud that it can fill a room easily. During our usage, the audio clarity was loud and clear with thumping bass that can be heard easily in the party hall, thanks to powerful two 10w drivers. The best part is that the audio doesn’t get distorted when in full volume. Overall, the audio quality is really good for the price we pay.
Final Word
At the price of Rs. 1,399, FOXSKY FS 101 Bluetooth Speaker is a good product with the decent sound quality a lot of options such as USB port, FM and MicroSD slot in addition to Bluetooth, and a wooden build. Again, one cannot really complain about the sound quality considering the price point. So if you looking decent Bluetooth speaker for home use, party and some small events, so you can consider this Foxsky speaker. More info please check my Youtube channel: Geekman.
