Short answer: the Eureka Forbes 150 is the best air purifier under 5000, with a True HEPA H13 filter, a ₹999 replacement filter and a 2 year warranty. The Honeywell Air Touch V1 is the other proper small-room choice, and the Levoit Core Mini suits a desk or a light sleeper.
Geekman has covered consumer tech for over 10 years, and this ranking is built the way our buying guides always are: research first, then a hard look at the numbers. For every model we compared official specs, CADR, claimed room size, filter type, filter replacement cost and features, price, warranty and service reach, and checked live prices on Amazon and Flipkart.
Prices and specs were checked on 26 October 2026. Only three air purifiers under ₹5,000 meet the basics: a HEPA filter, a stated CADR or room size, and a warranty I could read. All three are for small rooms of up to about 200 sq ft. For a bigger room, see the best air purifier under 10000 and the best air purifiers in India.

What matters
What to know before you buy an air purifier under 5000
💨
CADR decides speed
CADR is how much clean air the purifier delivers per hour. At this price expect about 150 m³/h, enough for a room of up to 200 sq ft.
📏
Small rooms only
Under ₹5,000, an air purifier suits a bedroom or study of up to about 200 sq ft. A bigger room needs a higher CADR and a bigger budget.
🧪
Insist on HEPA
Look for True HEPA or H13. Many cheap purifiers list a “HEPA type” filter with no efficiency number. Skip those.
🔁
Filter cost matters more here
A ₹4,500 purifier with a ₹2,200 filter costs more over three years than a ₹5,000 one with a ₹999 filter. Check the filter price.
🔇
Noise
Small purifiers can be loud on the top speed. Use the lowest speed that keeps the air clean, especially at night.
🚫
Skip gimmicks
UV lights, ionizers and aroma pads add little. A filter and a fan do the work.
The ranking
How I ranked these air purifiers
Each air purifier gets a score out of 10 for performance (40%), value (40%) and service (20%). The same rules apply to every model. Performance counts CADR first, which is how much clean air the purifier delivers, then the filter grade, the room size it covers and features. Value mixes price against the rest of the list, filter replacement cost and warranty. Service is the brand’s service reach across India. Only three models passed. Under ₹5,000 most air purifiers do not publish a CADR, a clear HEPA grade and a warranty, so I kept the list short instead of padding it.

This is the one I would buy under ₹5,000. It does the basics right: real HEPA filtering, a cheap filter and a two year warranty.
Cleaning power. CADR is 150 m³/h under the AHAM standard, and the maker positions it for about 200 sq ft. That fits a bedroom or kids room. In a bigger room it will run longer to do the same job.
Filter and running cost. Three stages: a pre-filter, an activated carbon layer and a True HEPA H13 filter. The replacement filter costs ₹999, the lowest in this guide, which keeps the cost of owning it low.
Daily use. It takes in air from all sides and has a timer of 2, 4 or 6 hours. On the top speed it is loud, about 55 dB, so use the lower speeds at night. There is no app.
Eureka Forbes Air Purifier 150 (Surround 360°) vs the competition. It has a better filter price and warranty than the Honeywell V1, at nearly the same price.

Verdict: A basic H13 purifier from a known brand. It works in a small room, but the filter costs more than the Forbes.

Full review
The V1 is the budget entry from Honeywell. It does the one job a purifier must do, with a real H13 HEPA filter, and little else.
Cleaning power. CADR is 152 m³/h and the page claims 235 sq ft. Keep it to a small bedroom, since a bigger room will take too long to clean.
Filter and running cost. It has a pre-filter, an H13 HEPA filter and an activated carbon layer in one compound filter rated for 9,000 hours, about a year. A replacement filter costs about ₹2,200.
Daily use. Controls are simple. There is no app and no air quality readout, so you run it and trust it.
Honeywell Air Touch V1 Air Purifier vs the competition. The V1 costs far less than the V2, with less room coverage and no remote.

What we don’t like
– Small rooms only
– No sensor or app
– CADR not listed on the page
Full review
The Core Mini is Levoit’s smallest model. It weighs about a kilo and fits a desk, and it is the quietest pick on this page.
Cleaning power. Levoit says it cleans a space of 17 square metres, about 180 sq ft, in 30 minutes. The Indian page does not list a CADR, so treat it as a small room unit.
Filter and running cost. A three stage filter with a HEPA layer sits behind a 360 degree intake. The original replacement filter costs about ₹1,900.
Daily use. It has two buttons and three fan speeds. There is no sensor and no app. You can add a few drops of essential oil to the aroma pad if you want a scent. Noise is rated at 25 dB on the lowest speed.
Levoit Core Mini Personal Air Purifier vs the competition. The Core Mini is much quieter than the Forbes 150 and the Honeywell V1, and it cleans a smaller space.

The buying guide
How to choose an air purifier under 5000
📐
Measure the room
Multiply length by width in feet. A CADR near 0.75 times that number gives three air changes an hour.
🔌
Close the doors
A purifier cleans one closed room. Open doors cut its effect a lot.
🧼
Clean the pre-filter
Vacuum or wash it every few weeks to protect the HEPA filter.
🛒
Check the filter
Make sure a genuine replacement filter is sold and note its price before you buy.
📍
Check service
Prefer a brand with service in your city. Eureka Forbes and Honeywell both have wide networks.
⏱️
Use it daily
A purifier works only while it runs. Run it a few hours a day, or at night on a low speed.

Specs and warranty terms are from the Amazon and Flipkart listings on 26 Oct 2026. Prices move daily.
1 · Is an air purifier under 5000 worth it?
Yes, for a small bedroom. A True HEPA filter works the same at any price. What you give up at ₹5,000 is room size, smart features and speed.
2 · Can it clean a hall?
Not well. These models are built for rooms of up to 200 sq ft. For a hall, look at the best air purifier under 10000.
3 · What about the cheaper purifiers near ₹2,000 to ₹4,000?
I found many from small brands, but none published a CADR and a clear warranty together, so I did not list them.
4 · How often do I change the filter?
About once a year. The Eureka Forbes 150 filter costs ₹999, and the Honeywell V1 filter costs about ₹2,200.
5 · Is the Levoit Core Mini strong enough for a bedroom?
Only a small one. It is a personal purifier of about 180 sq ft. For a full bedroom the Eureka Forbes 150 does more.
Other air purifiers I looked at
Qubo Q200. It lists above ₹5,000 and covers 200 sq ft, so it sits in the under 10000 range.
Philips AC1215. This is a replacement filter, not a purifier.
Unbranded and new-brand purifiers. Pigeon, pTron, LINSO and similar names list low prices, but I could not find a clear CADR, HEPA grade and warranty together.
