Short answer: buy the Sennheiser CX 80U (₹1,790) for the best sound, the Sony IER-EX15C (₹1,589) for calls and volume keys, the JBL Tune 310C (₹1,299) for EQ presets, and the KZ EDX Pro Type-C (₹999) if you want an IEM.
Geekman has covered consumer tech for over 10 years, and this ranking is built the way our buying guides always are: research first, then a hard look at the numbers. For every pair we compared listed specs, driver size, DAC, controls, mic, warranty and price, and checked live prices on Amazon and Flipkart.
A note on sources. Each entry is built from the seller listing, the brand spec sheet and published reviews, which I name. Where I could not find an independent review, I say so. Prices were seen on 25 October 2026.

How I ranked these Type-C earphones under ₹2,000
Each pair gets a score out of 10 for performance (40%), value (40%) and service (20%). Performance looks at sound reviews, driver and DAC, controls and mic. Value is price against what you get. The Apple EarPods sit second because most iPhone 15 and newer buyers look for this exact pair, even though the Sony scores higher.

Sennheiser relaunched the CX 80U in India with a USB-C plug, and Digit reported the launch price at ₹1,990. Amazon.in sold it for ₹1,790 on 25 October 2026 with a 1 year warranty. TechRadar scored its sound 4.5 out of 5 and its value 5 out of 5. This entry is built from the listing, the spec sheet and published reviews.
Sound and DAC. Smartprix lists the CX 80U at 28 ohm with a sensitivity of 119 dB, and Sennheiser quotes a 24-bit/96kHz DAC in the plug. TechRadar called the sound the strongest part of the package. That makes it the pick for music, podcasts and films, which is why it leads this list.
Controls and mic. The cable has one smart button for play, pause and calls. TechRadar noted that there are no volume controls, and that the mic picked up some static. You change volume on the phone, so it works, but the Sony and JBL here are easier to use on the move.
Fit and warranty. The box includes three ear tip sizes, and the Amazon listing gives a 1 year warranty.
Price check. At ₹1,790 it is about ₹200 more than the Sony IER-EX15C. If you only watch videos and take calls, the cheaper pairs here are enough. Pay for it if you want better sound for years.
Sennheiser CX 80U vs the competition. It sounds better than the Sony IER-EX15C and costs ₹200 more, but the Sony gives you volume keys on the cable.

Apple lists the EarPods (USB-C) in India at ₹2,190. Flipkart showed them at ₹1,649 on 25 October 2026, and the Amazon.in listing showed no price. TechRadar tested them with an iPhone 15 and did not recommend them for sound. They sit second in this list because many iPhone buyers search for this exact pair.
Sound. TechRadar found the bass muddy and the sound lean in dynamics, and concluded that the EarPods do not sound good. It rated the mic as fine, though the mic sits close to the cheek.
Lossless audio. Apple supports lossless audio over the USB-C connection to an iPhone 15, which AirPods cannot offer. That is real, but you need lossless files and a phone that supports it.
Compatibility. Apple built them for iPhone 15 and newer and USB-C iPads. I did not verify them on Android, so if you use Android, pick one of the other picks.
Warranty. The Amazon listing shows Apple’s One Year Limited Warranty.
Apple EarPods (USB-C) vs the competition. It is the safest pick for an iPhone 15, but the Sennheiser CX 80U and Sony IER-EX15C sound better and cost less.

The Sony IER-EX15C is a small USB-C earphone with a remote that has volume and mute keys. Amazon.in sold it for ₹1,589 on 25 October 2026 against a listed price of ₹2,490, with a 1 year warranty. SoundGuys scored it 7.4 out of 10.
Sound. SoundGuys found the sound good for the price, especially for podcasts, with slightly recessed treble. It also reported no perceived latency, which helps for video and games. Smartprix lists a 5 mm driver.
Mic and cable. The mic is fine for calls, but SoundGuys noted that cable rubbing is audible, especially when walking. The cable is not user replaceable. It twists but does not knot.
Fit and isolation. SoundGuys found it comfortable for more than 8 hours, with weak passive noise isolation. Left and right are hard to tell apart by touch.
Compatibility. Sony lists it as working with Mac, Windows, iOS and Android without drivers, according to SoundGuys. If the audio does not play, unplug it, reconnect it and allow USB access.
Sony IER-EX15C vs the competition. It has easier controls than the Sennheiser CX 80U, but the Sennheiser sounds better.

The JBL Tune 310C has a 3-button remote that controls volume, calls and three EQ presets: default, bass and vocal. Amazon.in sold it for ₹1,299 against a listed price of ₹1,999 on 25 October 2026, with a 1 year warranty. TechRadar scored its features 4.5 out of 5 and its sound 3.5 out of 5.
Sound and presets. TechRadar found the default mode the most balanced, the bass mode punchy but sometimes bloated, and the vocal mode tinny for music. Treble is bright, and the review said it rarely turns harsh.
Mic and controls. TechRadar called the inline mic surprisingly good, with clear voice and little static, though a little quiet. The controller handles volume, play, calls and the EQ switch.
Build. The flat cable is tangle-resistant but prone to bending, the shell is plastic, and cable noise is noticeable when moving. No water resistance is stated. JBL lists impedance at 16 ohm.
Compatibility. TechRadar used it with a Samsung Galaxy S24 FE and a Windows laptop without connection issues. On Amazon.in, search for the listing titled “JBL Tune 310 Wired in Ear Type C” because many third-party replacement cables use the 310C name.
JBL Tune 310C vs the competition. It has more features than the Edifier P230 and costs ₹200 less, but the Edifier has IP54.

The Audiocular x KZ EDX Pro Type-C is the KZ EDX Pro IEM sold with a Type-C cable that has a KT02H20P DAC and a mic. Amazon.in sold it for ₹999 on 25 October 2026, against a listed price of ₹1,599. The listing gives a 1 year warranty against manufacturing defects, with support through ConceptKart. Geekman reviewed the Headphone Zone edition of the EDX Pro and gave it 4.1 out of 5. The Amazon edition is a different listing, so treat our review as a guide to the sound, not a test of this exact unit.
Sound. Our review of the Headphone Zone edition found a warm, punchy sound with good soundstage for the money, comfortable shells and strong isolation. It noted that treble can sound sharp at high volume and the ear tips are only adequate.
Type-C cable. The Amazon listing is the Type-C version with the KT02H20P DAC, a 10 mm dynamic driver and a mic. The cable is a standard 2-pin type, so you can change it later.
Warranty. The listing says 1 year against manufacturing defects. Ear tips are not covered. Support goes through ConceptKart by email.
Price check. At ₹999 it costs ₹630 less than the EDX Pro 2 and ₹596 less than the Beast, and it is the only one of the three with a review. If you only watch videos and take calls, a plain pair is enough.
KZ EDX Pro (Type-C, Audiocular edition) vs the competition. It sounds more like an IEM than the plain earphones in this list, but the Sony and JBL are easier to live with.

The KZ EDX Pro 2 is the follow-up to the EDX Pro, with a 10 mm super linear dynamic driver, a metallic faceplate and a detachable 120 cm silver-plated cable. The Amazon listing is the Type-C version with a mic. Amazon.in sold it for ₹1,629 on 25 October 2026, against a listed price of ₹2,299, with a 1 year warranty. I found no independent review, so this entry is built from the listing and the spec sheet.
Driver and cable. The listing gives a 10 mm super linear dynamic driver, 24 ohm impedance and a standard 0.75 mm 2-pin detachable cable, 120 cm long, with a Type-C plug. A bigger or newer driver does not guarantee better sound, so I will not describe the tuning.
Mic and controls. The mic version has one in-line button for music and calls. The listing says non-mic versions exist, so check that you pick the mic one.
Warranty. The listing shows a 1 year warranty.
Price check. At ₹1,629 it costs ₹630 more than the EDX Pro Type-C, which has a review behind it. Pay the difference only if you want the metal build and the upgraded driver.

The Edifier P230 is a USB-C earphone with a 12.4 mm dynamic driver, a built-in DAC, 24-bit/96kHz Hi-Res support and IP54 water and dust resistance. Amazon.in sold it for ₹1,495 on 25 October 2026, against an MRP of ₹1,790, with a 6 month warranty. I found no independent review, so this entry is built from the listing.

Questions other guides skip
The questions most Type-C earphone lists leave out
These are the things buyers get wrong with Type-C earphones. I checked each against listings, spec sheets and published reviews on 25 October 2026.
1 · Why is the Apple EarPods second when its score is lower?
Because many iPhone 15 and newer buyers look for this exact pair, so it earns a high slot. TechRadar did not recommend them for sound, and the MRP is ₹2,190. Flipkart showed ₹1,649 on 25 October 2026. If you use Android, buy one of the others.
2 · Are the IEMs a better buy than the plain earphones?
For sound, an IEM usually is. For daily use, the plain pairs are easier because they have volume keys and no ear tips to fit. The KZ EDX Pro Type-C has a review behind it. I found none for the EDX Pro 2 or the Beast.
3 · Why is the Edifier P230 last?
Because the Amazon listing shows a 6 month warranty, while the Sennheiser, Sony and JBL list 1 year at similar prices. It has IP54 and EQ presets, which the others lack, and I found no review of it.
4 · Do these pairs have a DAC?
The Sennheiser CX 80U, JBL Tune 310C, Edifier P230, KZ EDX Pro Type-C and Audiocular x KZ Beast list one. Sony’s EX15C has a built-in DAC and amp, according to SoundGuys. The KZ EDX Pro 2 listing does not name one.
5 · Why is there no Tangzu Red Lion or Moondrop?
The Tangzu Red Lion costs ₹2,499 or more, and Moondrop’s Type-C IEMs are sold through Headphone Zone and The Audio Store, not Amazon.in or Flipkart. They are not missing by accident. See our best IEMs under 2000 for IEMs in general.

The buying guide
How to choose Type-C earphones under ₹2,000
🔌
Port
Check that your phone has a USB-C port that supports audio.
🎚️
DAC
A built-in DAC converts audio in the plug. It decides much of the sound.
🎛️
Controls
Volume keys save you from picking up the phone.
🎙️
Mic
Look for an in-line mic if you take calls.
🧵
Cable
The cable is the weak point. A detachable 2-pin cable lasts longer.
📋
Warranty
Most are 1 year. The Edifier P230 lists 6 months.
1 · Phone compatibility
Most phones with a USB-C port work, but a few do not support USB audio. If audio does not play, unplug, reconnect and allow USB access. iPhone 15 and newer also use USB-C, but not every pair is tuned for iOS.
2 · DAC and sound
A Type-C earphone is usually a digital earphone with a DAC in the plug. Two pairs with the same driver can sound different because of the DAC and amp. Reviews matter more than driver size.
3 · IEM or plain earphone
An IEM seals the ear canal and usually sounds fuller, but needs a good fit and the right ear tips. A plain pair is easier to wear.
4 · Cable and controls
Volume keys, a mic and a button for calls make daily use easier. Detachable cables can be replaced instead of the whole pair.
5 · Genuine listings
Many Amazon.in results for “Type-C earphones” are replacement cables or lookalikes. Check the brand, the part number and the seller before you pay.
6 · Warranty and service
Keep the invoice. A 1 year warranty from Sennheiser, Sony, JBL or Apple is easier to claim than a 6 month one.
Other Type-C earphones I looked at

Moondrop Quarks DSP, Quark 2 DSP and 7Hz Salnotes Zero Type-C (₹1,149 to ₹1,999). Sold through Headphone Zone and The Audio Store, not on Amazon.in or Flipkart.
Tangzu Waner 2 Red Lion Type-C (₹2,499 to ₹2,699). Over the budget, and sold through Headphone Zone.
Xiaomi, OnePlus, boAt and Noise Type-C pairs (₹499 to ₹599). Cheaper pairs covered in our under 1000 and under 500 guides.

Best Type-C earphones under ₹2,000 FAQ
Which is the best Type-C earphone under ₹2,000?
The Sennheiser CX 80U at ₹1,790 is the best plain pair for sound, with a 24-bit/96kHz DAC and a 1 year warranty. The Sony IER-EX15C at ₹1,589 is better for calls because it has volume and mute keys. For an IEM, the KZ EDX Pro Type-C at ₹999 has the best case behind it.
Which Type-C earphone is best for iPhone 15 and newer under ₹2,000?
Apple’s own EarPods (USB-C) are made for iPhone 15 and newer, and Flipkart showed them at ₹1,649 on 25 October 2026. SoundGuys also lists the Sony IER-EX15C as working with iOS. Check the seller’s compatibility note, because some pairs are tuned for Android.
Is there a good Type-C IEM under ₹2,000?
Yes, four options. The KZ EDX Pro Type-C at ₹999 is the cheapest and the one with a review. The KZ EDX Pro 2 at ₹1,629 and the Audiocular x KZ Beast at ₹1,595 are the step-up IEMs, and I found no independent review of either.
Which Type-C earphone has the best mic?
TechRadar called the JBL Tune 310C’s mic surprisingly good, and SoundGuys found the Sony IER-EX15C’s mic fine for calls. TechRadar noted some static on the Sennheiser CX 80U’s mic.
Do Type-C earphones need a DAC?
Most Type-C earphones carry a small DAC chip in the plug or the cable, so the phone sends digital audio and the earphone converts it. The Sennheiser CX 80U, JBL Tune 310C, Edifier P230, KZ EDX Pro Type-C and Audiocular x KZ Beast all list a DAC.
Which Type-C earphone has IP water resistance?
The Edifier P230 lists IP54 water and dust resistance. The Xiaomi Type-C, which costs ₹549, also lists IP54. See our Type-C earphones under 1000.
Will a Type-C earphone work with every Android phone?
It works with most phones that have a USB-C port and support USB audio. A few phones do not, so check your phone’s support page or ask the seller. If it does not play, unplug it, reconnect it and allow USB access.
Are Type-C earphones good for gaming?
A wired pair has no Bluetooth delay, which is why people use it for games such as BGMI. I did not test any of these pairs in BGMI, so I will not rank them for gaming. Pick one with a mic if you talk in squads.
Can I use a Type-C earphone with a laptop?
Yes, on a laptop with a USB-C port. TechRadar used the JBL Tune 310C on a Windows laptop, and SoundGuys lists the Sony IER-EX15C as working on Windows and Mac without drivers.
Which pairs have the longest warranty?
The Sennheiser, Sony, JBL, KZ EDX Pro, KZ EDX Pro 2, Audiocular x KZ Beast and Apple pairs list 1 year. The Edifier P230 lists 6 months on Amazon.
Should I buy wired Type-C earphones or wireless earbuds under ₹2,000?
Wired pairs cost less, never need charging and have no wireless delay, but your phone’s port is then in use. For wireless picks, see our best earbuds under 1000.
