Short answer: for most Indian families, buy the Bosch SMS66G 13 place (₹45,490). For more capacity at a lower price, take the IFB Neptune FX14 (₹42,790). On a ₹30,000 budget, take the Faber FFSD 7PR 14S (₹28,990). For a small kitchen, a table-top such as the Voltas Beko DT8B starts at about ₹17,500.
A dishwasher only works in India if you get three things right: the size, your water and the service in your city. We rebuilt this guide on 17 October 2026 around those three checks. Prices below come live from Amazon.in and Flipkart and move during sales.
The ranking
How we ranked these dishwashers
We have not lab-tested these dishwashers ourselves. The ranking combines brand specs, listed features, independent video tests, long-term owner reports across 2025 and 2026, service-network checks and live prices. Each score is out of 10: Performance 40% (wash features, noise, water use, drying, capacity), Value 40% (price, running cost, warranty) and Service 20% (network reach, spares, warranty terms).

8.6 Service
The safe buy. Quiet, thrifty with water, a proper Kadhai program and one of the widest service networks.

13 place settings · Intensive Kadhai 70°C · About 44 dB · 10-yr motor warranty
Best for
✓ Families of 3 to 5
✓ Buyers who want a big service network
✓ Homes that cook daily Indian meals
Not ideal for
– Homes with very hard water and no softener
– Anyone who needs the lowest price
Verdict: This is the one most families should buy. It does the basics very well, has a dedicated Intensive Kadhai program and the Bosch service network is among the widest in India.
Bosch SMS66GW01I (white)
Bosch SMS66GI01I (silver)
Pros and cons
What we like
+ Quiet running
+ Intensive Kadhai 70°C program
+ Low water use (9 to 9.6 L)
+ Wide service network
What we don’t like
– Fixed tines make big cookers harder to load
– Spares come from Turkey and can be slow
– Needs an external softener in very hard water
– No steam drying
Full review
The SMS66G is the Bosch dishwasher most Indian buyers end up with. It is a 13 place free-standing machine, 60 × 60 × 84.5 cm, made in Turkey. The white (GW) and silver (GI) versions are the same dishwasher. The silver one costs about ₹3,000 more.
Cleaning. You get Hygiene+ and Intensive Kadhai programs and an inbuilt heater. Intensive Kadhai runs at 70°C and takes about 1 hour 35 minutes. Heavily burnt vessels may still need a pre-soak.
Noise and water. Bosch lists about 44 dB, which is quiet enough to run overnight in an open kitchen. It uses roughly 9 to 9.6 litres per cycle. Washing the same load by hand usually takes 20 litres or more.
Running cost. Plan on about ₹16 to ₹30 per cycle once you add electricity, detergent, salt and rinse aid. The range depends on which detergent you buy.
Install and service. Bosch installs it free. You prepare the water inlet, drain and a 16A socket. Spares come from Turkey, so some parts can take time. The built-in softener works up to about 880 ppm TDS. Above that, fit an external softener.
Bosch SMS66GW01I / SMS66GI01I (13 place) vs the competition. Against the IFB FX14 it is quieter and uses less water, but it has one place setting fewer and costs ₹2,700 more. Against the LG it costs ₹6,500 to ₹9,500 less, without steam.

14 place settings · Steam drying · 70°C hot wash · 8-yr spares support
Best for
✓ Families of 4 to 6
✓ Buyers who want steam drying under ₹45,000
✓ Homes outside the big metros (check local service first)
Not ideal for
– Light sleepers (about 52 dB listed)
– Water savers (about 12 L per cycle)
Verdict: The best all-rounder for the money. If a Bosch or LG is out of budget, start here.
Pros and cons
What we like
+ 14 place settings for ₹42,790
+ Steam drying
+ 360° spray arm with 70°C hot wash
+ 8-year spares support
What we don’t like
– Louder than the Bosch (about 52 dB)
– Uses about 12 L per cycle
– Service quality varies by city
Full review
Neptune FX14 is IFB’s best-selling 14 place model. It has a 360° spray arm, a 70°C hot wash, hygienic steam drying and a self-cleaning anti-microbial filter. The Amazon listing says it fits up to 80 utensils.
Cleaning. Five wash programs cover heavy, normal, eco and quick loads. Steam drying helps plastics and steel dry without water spots.
Noise and water. Expect about 52 dB and about 12 litres per cycle. That is louder and thirstier than the Bosch.
Warranty and service. IFB gives 2 years on the machine and promises 8 years of spare-parts support. IFB’s network reaches more small towns than most, but service quality changes from city to city, so check your pin code before you buy.
IFB Neptune FX14 (14 place) vs the competition. Against the white Bosch SMS66G you get one more place setting and steam drying for ₹2,700 less, but the machine is louder and uses more water.

✓ Homes where service speed matters most
✓ Kitchens that want steam wash and dry

– Areas with frequent power cuts
Verdict: The premium pick. You are mostly paying for steam, app control and LG’s service reach.
Pros and cons
What we like
+ TrueSteam wash and dry
+ Wi-Fi app control
+ 10-year motor warranty
+ Strong service network
What we don’t like
– ₹9,500 to ₹12,200 more than the Bosch and IFB picks
– Restarts from the beginning after a power cut
– Nozzles need descaling in hard water
Full review
The DFB424FP is a 14 place model with TrueSteam, an inverter direct-drive motor, Wi-Fi and 10 wash programs. LG gives 2 years on the machine and a 10-year warranty on the motor.
Cleaning. TrueSteam helps loosen baked-on residue and dry the load. The app lets you start, monitor and download extra programs.
Power cuts. If power goes off mid-cycle, this model restarts from the beginning. That costs another full cycle of power and water. If your area has frequent cuts, the Bosch, IFB, Faber and Voltas Beko picks resume more gracefully.
Hard water. Like any steam dishwasher, the nozzles can scale up in hard water. Use salt and run a descaler about every two months.
LG DFB424FP (14 place) vs the competition. Against the IFB FX14 you pay ₹12,200 more for LG’s service reach, a direct-drive motor and Wi-Fi.

Pros and cons

What we don’t like
– ₹3,400 more than the SMS66G

The Series 6 SMS6IKW01I is a 14 place Bosch with Home Connect Wi-Fi. It sits above the SMS66G in the range and suits larger families.
What you get. A 14 place tub, app control and refill alerts. The same Bosch service network backs it as the SMS66G.
Track record. It has been on sale for a shorter time than the SMS66G, so there is less long-term history to lean on.
Bosch Series 6 SMS6IKW01I (14 place) vs the competition. Against the LG DFB424FP it costs ₹6,100 less with the same 14 place capacity, but without steam. The 15 place Bosch SMS46KI03I costs ₹10,100 more.

✓ People who want plastics to dry well
Not ideal for

Verdict: Pick this over the FX14 only if you cook for five or more every day. Otherwise the FX14 is the better value.
Pros and cons
What we like
+ 15 place capacity
+ Auto door-open drying
+ Adjustable racks
+ 8-year spares support
What we don’t like
– About ₹8,500 more than the FX14
– Service is better in metros
– Fewer independent long-term tests
Full review
Neptune VX15 is the 15 place version of IFB’s Deep Clean line. The racks adjust for tall vessels, and the door opens slightly at the end of the cycle to let steam out, which helps plastics dry.
Cleaning. The 360° spray arm and Deep Clean spray reach the corners of the tub. Adjustable racks help when you load tall vessels.
Service. IFB backs the VX15 with the same 8-year spares promise as the FX14. Service is better in metros than in smaller cities, so check your pin code.

Midea MDWPF1301F is a 13 place free-standing machine with 7 programs that include Intensive 70°C, Glass Care, Eco and Rapid wash. It is one of the lowest-priced full-size dishwashers sold in India.
Capacity. Place settings are a Western measure. Indian steel utensils are bigger, so a 13 place tub holds fewer real pieces. It suits 2 to 4 people.
Service. Midea’s service network is thinner than Bosch, IFB or LG. Ask about service in your pin code before you order.
Midea MDWPF1301F (13 place) vs the competition. Against the Faber 14S it costs ₹6,000 less with one place setting fewer. Against the table-tops it adds a full-size tub for about ₹4,000 to ₹8,000 more.

+ Under ₹19,000
What we don’t like

Voltas Beko sells two table-top versions, the DT8B and the DT8S. Both hold 8 place settings and sit on a kitchen counter, so they need no built-in space.
Size. A table-top is small for large cookers and kadhai, so you will still hand-wash those. It is a good fit for plates, bowls, glasses and small vessels.
Install. It needs a counter, a nearby tap and a drain. Check the tap connector supplied before you order.

The buying guide
How to choose a dishwasher for an Indian kitchen

8 place · table-top
1 to 3 people. About ₹15,000 to ₹19,000. Sits on the counter.

12 to 13 place
3 to 5 people. From ₹23,000 to ₹48,000.

14 place
4 to 6 people. ₹29,000 to ₹55,000. The most common size in India.

15 place and above
6 or more people, or one big load a day. ₹51,000 and up.
A place setting is one person’s plate, bowl, glass, cup, saucer and cutlery. Indian thalis, kadhai and cookers are bigger, so round up one size.
1 · Size: how many place settings do you need?
Use 8 place settings for 1 to 3 people, 12 to 13 for 3 to 5 and 14 or more for 4 to 6 people or a joint family. A bigger tub means fewer loads, which is how the machine saves you time.
Even a couple often does better with a 13 or 14 place machine, because you can run it every second day and fit large vessels. Look for a third cutlery rack. It frees space in the main racks, so a 14 place model with one holds more than the number suggests.
2 · Kadhai, cookers and Indian utensils
Check three things: a 70°C or Kadhai program, racks that adjust or fold for tall vessels, and the tub depth. Fixed tines on the lower rack make big cookers hard to load.
Steel kadhai and steel cooker bodies are fine. Keep non-stick pans, aluminium, cast iron and wood out. Scrape off thick burnt food first.
3 · Hard water, TDS and dishwasher salt
Check your water TDS with a cheap meter before you buy. Every dishwasher here has a built-in softener that needs dishwasher salt. It copes with roughly 800 to 880 ppm TDS. Above about 900 ppm, add an external softener, or scale will clog the spray arms and nozzles.
Up to ~800 ppm TDS
The built-in softener plus dishwasher salt is enough.
800 to 900 ppm TDS
Borderline. Use salt, descale every two months and consider an external softener.
Above ~900 ppm TDS
Fit an external water softener before the dishwasher.
4 · Drying: condensation, steam or auto door-open
Most dishwashers dry by condensation, which can leave water spots on plastics. IFB and LG use steam, and IFB’s VX line also opens the door slightly at the end of the cycle. If you use a lot of plastic boxes, pick one of those.
5 · Power cuts: does the cycle resume?
Faber, Voltas Beko, IFB and Bosch pick up from the step they were in. The LG DFB424FP restarts from the beginning, which wastes water and power if cuts are frequent. Faber and Voltas Beko restart at the beginning of the current step, not minute zero.
6 · Service: check your pin code first
Our market read: Bosch, IFB and LG have the widest networks, followed by Faber and Voltas Beko. Midea has a thinner network. Before you pay, call the brand and ask for the nearest service centre and the typical wait for spares.
7 · Installation checklist
A free-standing dishwasher needs 60 × 60 × 85 cm of space, a 16A socket, a water inlet and a drain. Put the tap and the drain to the side of the machine, not behind or in the centre. The brand usually installs it, and Bosch does so free. The plumbing prep is on you.

60 × 60 × 85 cm
Free space for a standard free-standing unit.
16A socket
A dedicated socket near the machine, not a loose extension board.
Tap and drain to the side
Not behind or in the centre of the unit.
Brand installs it
Bosch installs free. You prepare the plumbing and the socket.

Dishwasher FAQs
Which is the best dishwasher in India?
For most Indian families the Bosch SMS66G 13 place (₹45,490 white, ₹48,490 silver) is the best all-round dishwasher. The IFB Neptune FX14 (₹42,790) gives 14 places for less, and the Faber FFSD 7PR 14S (₹28,990) is the budget 14 place pick.
Is a dishwasher worth it in an Indian kitchen?
Yes, if you cook daily and pick a size that fits your family. A full load uses 9 to 15 litres of water against 20 litres or more by hand, and one cycle costs about ₹16 to ₹30 all-in. It works best when you also use dishwasher salt and check service in your city.
How much does a dishwasher cost in India?
Table-top dishwashers start at about ₹15,000. Full-size 13 to 14 place models cost ₹23,000 to ₹55,000, and 15 place models go from about ₹51,000 to ₹65,000. Prices here were checked on 17 October 2026 and change during sales.
How many place settings do I need?
Pick 8 place settings for 1 to 3 people, 12 to 13 for 3 to 5 people and 14 or more for 4 to 6 people or a joint family. Indian utensils are bigger than the Western plates a place setting is based on, so round up if you cook with large vessels.
Can a dishwasher clean kadhai and pressure cookers?
Steel kadhai and the steel cooker body usually clean well on a 70°C or Kadhai program, if they fit the lower rack. Scrape off thick burnt food first, and wash the cooker lid gasket by hand. Table-top models are often too small for large cookers.
How much does it cost to run a dishwasher per month?
About ₹500 to ₹900 a month for one cycle a day. A cycle uses 0.8 to 1.2 units of electricity (about ₹6 to ₹9), plus roughly ₹10 to ₹20 of detergent, salt and rinse aid, depending on the brand you pick.
Do I need dishwasher salt and a water softener?
Yes. Most dishwashers have a built-in softener that needs dishwasher salt to work. It copes with water up to about 800 to 880 ppm TDS. If your TDS is above about 900 ppm, fit an external softener as well.
Bosch or IFB: which dishwasher is better?
Bosch is quieter, uses less water and has a wider metro service network. IFB gives one more place setting and steam drying for less money, and promises 8 years of spares. Choose the Bosch for service and silence, and the IFB FX14 for value.
Should I buy a table-top or a free-standing dishwasher?
Buy a free-standing 12 to 14 place model if you have the floor space and cook daily for 3 or more people. Choose a table-top only for 1 to 3 people or when you have no floor space, and expect to hand-wash big vessels.
Which dishwasher brand has the best service in India?
Bosch, IFB and LG have the widest service networks, followed by Faber and Voltas Beko. Midea and a few others have a thinner network. Service quality still varies by city, so ask for local service details before you buy.
What should not go into a dishwasher?
Keep non-stick pans, aluminium vessels, cast iron, wooden items and anything not marked dishwasher-safe out. Plastics go on the top rack only. Remove the pressure cooker gasket and wash it by hand.
Does a dishwasher work during power cuts?
It stops, and what happens next depends on the model. Faber, Voltas Beko, IFB and Bosch resume from the step they were in. The LG DFB424FP restarts from the beginning, which wastes a cycle if cuts are frequent.
How long does a dishwasher cycle take?
An Eco program takes about 3 hours, a normal program about 2 hours and an intensive or Kadhai program about 1 hour 35 minutes to 3 hours. Run Eco overnight and use the Quick program only for light loads.
Can I install a dishwasher myself?
The brand installs it, and Bosch does so free. You must prepare a 16A socket, a water inlet and a drain before the technician arrives. Put the tap and drain point to the side of the dishwasher, not behind it.
