Short answer: buy the Sennheiser CX 80U (₹1,790) for the best sound, the Sony IER-EX15C (₹1,589) for volume keys and calls, the JBL Tune 310C (₹1,299) for EQ presets, and the Xiaomi Type-C (₹549) if you want to spend under ₹600.
Geekman has covered consumer tech for over 10 years, and this ranking is built the way our buying guides always are: research first, then a hard look at the numbers. For every pair we compared listed specs, driver size, DAC, controls, mic, warranty and price, and checked live prices on Amazon and Flipkart.
A note on sources. Each entry is built from the seller listing, the brand spec sheet and published reviews, which I name. Where I could not find an independent review, I say so. Prices were seen on 25 October 2026.

Sennheiser relaunched the CX 80U in India with a USB-C plug, and Digit reported the launch price at ₹1,990. Amazon.in sold it for ₹1,790 on 25 October 2026 with a 1 year warranty. TechRadar scored its sound 4.5 out of 5 and its value 5 out of 5. This entry is built from the listing, the spec sheet and published reviews.
Sound and DAC. Smartprix lists the CX 80U at 28 ohm with a sensitivity of 119 dB, and Sennheiser quotes a 24-bit/96kHz DAC in the plug. TechRadar called the sound the strongest part of the package. That makes it the pick for music, podcasts and films, which is why it leads this list.
Controls and mic. The cable has one smart button for play, pause and calls. TechRadar noted that there are no volume controls, and that the mic picked up some static. You change volume on the phone, so it works, but the Xiaomi and JBL below are easier to use on the move.
Fit and warranty. The box includes three ear tip sizes, and the Amazon listing gives a 1 year warranty.
Price check. At ₹1,790 it is about ₹200 more than the Sony IER-EX15C. If you only watch videos and take calls, the cheaper pairs below are enough. Pay for it if you want better sound for years.
Sennheiser CX 80U vs the competition. It sounds better than the Sony IER-EX15C and costs ₹200 more, but the Sony gives you volume keys on the cable.

The Sony IER-EX15C is a small USB-C earphone with a remote that has volume and mute keys. Amazon.in sold it for ₹1,589 on 25 October 2026 against a listed price of ₹2,490, with a 1 year warranty. SoundGuys scored it 7.4 out of 10.
Sound. SoundGuys found the sound good for the price, especially for podcasts, with slightly recessed treble. It also reported no perceived latency, which helps for video and games. Smartprix lists a 5 mm driver.
Mic and cable. The mic is fine for calls, but SoundGuys noted that cable rubbing is audible, especially when walking. The cable is not user replaceable. It twists but does not knot.
Fit and isolation. SoundGuys found it comfortable for more than 8 hours, with weak passive noise isolation. Left and right are hard to tell apart by touch.
Compatibility. Sony lists it as working with Mac, Windows, iOS and Android without drivers, according to SoundGuys. If the audio does not play, unplug it, reconnect it and allow USB access.
Sony IER-EX15C vs the competition. It has easier controls than the Sennheiser CX 80U, but the Sennheiser sounds better.

✓ Android and laptop users with a Type-C port
Not ideal for
– Buyers who want to order from Amazon or Flipkart
– People who need stock today (drops sell out)

Verdict: The best sound in this list for the money, but you cannot buy it on Amazon or Flipkart and drops sell out.

What we don’t like

The Red Lion is a special edition of the Tangzu Waner 2 sold in India by Headphone Zone. The Type-C version with a mic is listed between ₹2,499 and ₹2,699, depending on the page and the drop. It is not on Amazon.in or Flipkart, so there is no buy box below, only a link to the seller. FoneArena reported that each of three drops sold out within days. The praise in that article is mostly promotional, so I rely on the spec sheet here and
Driver and cable. Headphone Zone lists a 10 mm PET driver, 20 ohm impedance and 113.5 dB sensitivity. The cable attaches with a standard 0.78 mm 2-pin connector, about 1.2 m long, so you can swap it later. The Type-C version has a built-in DAC.
What you get. FoneArena reports two sets of premium ear tips, a carry case and a cloth in the box. The sound is described as warm, with a fuller low end and smooth vocals.
Warranty and buying. Headphone Zone lists a 1 year manufacturer warranty from Tangzu, and asks you to report defects within 7 days of delivery. Stock comes in limited drops, so join the waitlist if it shows sold out.
Price check. It costs ₹1,200 to ₹1,400 more than the JBL Tune 310C. Buy it if you want an IEM sound and a detachable cable, not a plain earphone.
Tangzu Waner 2 Red Lion (Type-C) vs the competition. It is the only pick here with a detachable cable, so it beats every fixed-cable pair on repair life, but it is the hardest to buy.

Apple lists the EarPods (USB-C) in India at ₹2,190. The Amazon.in listing showed no price and no stock on 25 October 2026, so check Apple’s store or the live button below. TechRadar tested them with an iPhone 15 and did not recommend them for sound. They are here because many iPhone buyers look for this exact pair.
Sound. TechRadar found the bass muddy and the sound lean in dynamics, and concluded that the EarPods do not sound good. It rated the mic as fine, though the mic sits close to the cheek.
Lossless audio. Apple supports lossless audio over the USB-C connection to an iPhone 15, which AirPods cannot offer. That is real, but you need lossless files and a phone that supports it.
Compatibility. Apple built them for iPhone 15 and newer and USB-C iPads. I did not verify them on Android, so if you use Android, pick one of the other eight.
Warranty. The Amazon listing shows Apple’s One Year Limited Warranty.
Apple EarPods (USB-C) vs the competition. It is the safest pick for an iPhone 15, but the Sennheiser CX 80U and Sony IER-EX15C sound better and cost less.

The JBL Tune 310C has a 3-button remote that controls volume, calls and three EQ presets: default, bass and vocal. Amazon.in sold it for ₹1,299 against a listed price of ₹1,999 on 25 October 2026, with a 1 year warranty. TechRadar scored its features 4.5 out of 5 and its sound 3.5 out of 5.
Sound and presets. TechRadar found the default mode the most balanced, the bass mode punchy but sometimes bloated, and the vocal mode tinny for music. Treble is bright, and the review said it rarely turns harsh.
Mic and controls. TechRadar called the inline mic surprisingly good, with clear voice and little static, though a little quiet. The controller handles volume, play, calls and the EQ switch.
Build. The flat cable is tangle-resistant but prone to bending, the shell is plastic, and cable noise is noticeable when moving. No water resistance is stated. JBL lists impedance at 16 ohm.
Compatibility. TechRadar used it with a Samsung Galaxy S24 FE and a Windows laptop without connection issues. On Amazon.in, search for the listing titled “JBL Tune 310 Wired in Ear Type C” because many third-party replacement cables use the 310C name.
JBL Tune 310C vs the competition. It has more features than the Xiaomi and OnePlus pairs, and costs about ₹700 more.

OnePlus launched this half in-ear Type-C earphone at ₹999, and Amazon.in sold it for ₹599 on 25 October 2026 with a 1 year manufacturer warranty. It has a 14.2 mm dynamic driver and an in-line remote for music and calls. The Amazon listing carries the part number MH136, and an Oppo listing at ₹499 uses the same MH136 name. OnePlus does not publish a DAC or impedance figure, and
Fit. The half in-ear design rests in the ear instead of sealing the canal. It is easier on the ear over long use, but it lets outside noise in.
Drivers and sound. The 14.2 mm driver is larger than the 9 mm and 10 mm drivers in many budget pairs. I could not find an independent review with measurements, so I will not describe the sound beyond the spec.
Controls and plug. The inline remote handles music and calls, and the Type-C plug is reversible. OnePlus does not name the chip.
Price check. At ₹599 it is cheaper than the JBL and the Sony. The Oppo-branded MH136 at ₹499 is the cheapest way into the same model number, though I have not confirmed that they are identical.
OnePlus Half In-Ear Wired Earphones Lite (Type-C) vs the competition. It costs about the same as the Xiaomi and realme pairs, with a longer 1 year warranty.

Spec sheet. Smartprix lists 32 ohm impedance, 108 dB sensitivity and a 20 Hz to 20 kHz range. The pair weighs 13.5 g. IP54 means it resists dust and splashes, which is rare at this price.
Controls. There are volume up and down keys and a multi-function button for play, calls and track changes. That makes it easier to use than the Sennheiser CX 80U.
Warranty. The manufacturer warranty is 6 months and covers manufacturing defects. That is half of what OnePlus, JBL and Sony offer.
Price check. At ₹549 it is the cheapest pair here with volume keys, a 12.4 mm driver and an IP rating.

Controls. The integrated controls handle music and calls through the in-line remote.
Warranty. The listing says 6 months, which is short next to the 1 year warranty on the OnePlus.

The listing gives a 1 year warranty against manufacturing defects, with support through ConceptKart. Geekman reviewed the Headphone Zone edition of the EDX Pro and gave it 4.1 out of 5. The Amazon edition is a different listing, and
Sound. Our review of the Headphone Zone edition found a warm, punchy sound with good soundstage for the money, comfortable shells and strong isolation. It noted that treble can sound sharp at high volume and the ear tips are only adequate.
Type-C cable. The Headphone Zone version in our review came with both a Type-C and a 3.5 mm cable. The Amazon listing is the Type-C version with the KT02H20P DAC, a 10 mm dynamic driver and a mic. The cable is a standard 2-pin type, so you can change it later.
Warranty. The listing says 1 year against manufacturing defects. Ear tips are not covered. Support goes through ConceptKart by email.
Price check. At ₹999 it costs about ₹300 less than the JBL Tune 310C and gives you an IEM shell. It is a better music pick than the cheaper pairs, though less convenient.
KZ EDX Pro (Type-C, Audiocular edition) vs the competition. It sounds more like an IEM than the plain earphones above, but the JBL and Sony are easier to live with.

The questions most Type-C earphone lists leave out
These are the things buyers get wrong with Type-C earphones. I checked each against listings, spec sheets and published reviews on 25 October 2026.
1 · Why is a ₹2,499 to ₹2,699 pair you cannot buy on Amazon in the list?
Because the Tangzu Red Lion is the most talked about IEM in its range, and its Type-C version is sold in India by Headphone Zone with a 1 year warranty. It has no buy box here, only a link to the seller. If it is sold out, the Sennheiser CX 80U is the pair to get.
2 · Why is the Apple EarPods above the JBL?
Because of the warranty and iPhone fit, not the sound. TechRadar did not recommend them for sound. If you use Android, ignore the Apple pair and buy the JBL or Sennheiser. If you use an iPhone 15 or newer, check the Sony too, since SoundGuys lists it as working on iOS.
3 · Why did you leave out boAt, Portronics, Noise and Samsung?
They are not missing by accident. The boAt Bassheads 300C (₹499) and Portronics Conch Theta C (₹299) are sub-₹500 pairs that I am saving for an under ₹500 guide. Noise Chord 200 (₹599) is similar in price to the Xiaomi and OnePlus. For Samsung’s AKG Type-C pair, Amazon.in showed only third-party “Original” listings when I searched, so I could not confirm a genuine one.
4 · Do these pairs have a DAC?
The Sennheiser CX 80U, JBL Tune 310C and KZ EDX Pro Type-C advertise one. Sony’s EX15C has a built-in DAC and amp, according to SoundGuys. OnePlus, Xiaomi and realme do not publish DAC details, so I cannot state it.
5 · Which pairs have the shortest warranty?
The Xiaomi Type-C and realme Buds 3 list 6 months. Every other pair here lists 1 year. Keep the invoice either way.
What this means for your buying decision
You want the best sound: the Sennheiser CX 80U at ₹1,790.

The buying guide
How to choose Type-C earphones in India
🔌
Port
Check that your phone has a USB-C port that supports audio.
🎚️
DAC
A built-in DAC converts audio in the plug. It decides much of the sound.
🎛️
Controls
Volume keys save you from picking up the phone.
🎙️
Mic
Look for an in-line mic if you take calls.
🧵
Cable
The cable is the weak point. A detachable 2-pin cable lasts longer.
📋
Warranty
Most are 1 year. Xiaomi and realme list 6 months.
1 · Phone compatibility
Most phones with a USB-C port work, but a few do not support USB audio. If audio does not play, unplug, reconnect and allow USB access. iPhone 15 and newer also use USB-C, but not every pair is tuned for iOS.
2 · DAC and sound
A Type-C earphone is usually a digital earphone with a DAC in the plug. Two pairs with the same driver can sound different because of the DAC and amp. Reviews matter more than driver size.
3 · Fit and comfort
In-ear pairs seal the canal and block noise. Half in-ear pairs like the OnePlus rest in the ear and let sound in. Try both if you can, and check the return policy.
4 · Cable and controls
Volume keys, a mic and a button for calls make daily use easier. A flat cable tangles less but can bend. Detachable cables can be replaced.
5 · Genuine listings
Many Amazon.in results for “Type-C earphones” are replacement cables or lookalikes. Check the brand, the part number and the seller before you pay.
6 · Warranty and service
Keep the invoice. A 1 year warranty from Sennheiser, Sony, JBL or OnePlus is easier to claim than a 6 month one.
Other Type-C earphones I looked at
boAt Bassheads 300C (₹499) and Portronics Conch Theta C (₹299). Both listed on Amazon.in with 10 mm and 14.2 mm drivers. I am keeping them for an under ₹500 guide.
Noise Chord 200 (₹599). Lists a 13 mm driver. It costs about the same as the Xiaomi and OnePlus pairs, and I did not find an independent review.
Edifier P230 USB-C (₹1,495). Costs about as much as the Sony and the Sennheiser, and I did not research it enough to place it.
Google Pixel wired USB-C earbuds (₹3,059 and above on Amazon.in). Priced well above the rest.
KZ Castor Pro (₹2,027) and CCA Phoenix (₹2,586 and above). These are IEMs, and they belong in our IEM guides. See our best IEMs under 2000.
Samsung AKG Type-C earphones. Amazon.in showed only third-party “Original” listings when I searched, so I could not confirm a genuine one.
Zebronics, Ambrane, Blaupunkt and Truke Type-C pairs (₹229 to ₹499). Cheap options that I have not researched enough to rank.

Best Type-C earphones in India FAQ
Which is the best Type-C earphone in India in 2026?
The Sennheiser CX 80U at ₹1,790 is the best overall pick for sound, with a 24-bit/96kHz DAC and a 1 year warranty. The Sony IER-EX15C at ₹1,589 is the easier daily pair because it has volume and mute keys. For under ₹1,000, the Xiaomi Type-C at ₹549 has the best spec sheet.
What is the best Type-C earphone under ₹500?
On Amazon.in the pairs near that price are the Oppo MH136 at ₹499, the boAt Bassheads 300C at ₹499 and the Portronics Conch Theta C at ₹299. I have not ranked them in this list. I plan a full under ₹500 guide.
What is the best Type-C earphone under ₹1,000?
The Xiaomi Type-C Earphones at ₹549 offer the strongest specs: a 12.4 mm driver, IP54 and volume keys. The OnePlus Half In-Ear Lite at ₹599 has a 1 year warranty, and the KZ EDX Pro Type-C at ₹999 is the pick if you want an IEM sound.
What is the best Type-C earphone under ₹2,000?
The Sennheiser CX 80U at ₹1,790 and the Sony IER-EX15C at ₹1,589 are the two best. The JBL Tune 310C at ₹1,299 is the choice if you want EQ presets on the cable.
Which Type-C earphones work with iPhone 15 and newer?
Apple’s own EarPods (USB-C) are made for iPhone 15 and newer. Many third-party Type-C pairs with a built-in DAC also work, and SoundGuys lists the Sony IER-EX15C as working with iOS. Check the seller’s compatibility note, because some pairs are tuned for Android.
Do Type-C earphones need a DAC?
Most Type-C earphones carry a small DAC chip in the plug or the cable, so the phone sends digital audio and the earphone converts it. That is why the same pair can sound different from one brand to another. Pairs such as the Sennheiser CX 80U, JBL Tune 310C and KZ EDX Pro Type-C advertise a DAC.
Will a Type-C earphone work with every Android phone?
It works with most phones that have a USB-C port and support USB audio. A few phones do not, so check your phone’s support page or ask the seller. If it does not play, unplug it, reconnect it and allow USB access, as SoundGuys suggests.
Are Type-C earphones good for gaming?
A wired pair has no Bluetooth delay, which is why people use it for games such as BGMI. I did not test any of these pairs in BGMI, so I will not rank them for gaming. Pick one with a mic if you talk in squads.
Can I use a Type-C earphone with a laptop?
Yes, on a laptop with a USB-C port. TechRadar used the JBL Tune 310C on a Windows laptop, and SoundGuys lists the Sony IER-EX15C as working on Windows and Mac without drivers.
Is it safe to buy a cheap “original” Type-C earphone on Amazon?
Be careful. Searching for the JBL Tune 310C on Amazon.in shows many third-party replacement cables with “Original” in the title. Buy the listing sold by the brand or an authorised seller, and check that the title and part number match.
Should I buy wired Type-C earphones or wireless earbuds?
Wired pairs cost less, never need charging and have no wireless delay, but your phone’s port is then in use. For wireless picks, see our guides to the best earbuds under 1000, 2000 and 5000.
How long do Type-C earphones last?
It depends on the cable. A fixed cable is the usual failure point, so a 1 year warranty is worth having. The Tangzu Red Lion and KZ EDX Pro Type-C have detachable 2-pin cables, so you can replace the cable instead of the earphone.
