boAt Nirvana Eutopia 2 Review

I’ve tested a lot of boAt headphones over the years, and none of them made me want to keep wearing them after the review was done. The Nirvana Eutopia 2 ANC is the first one that did.

Quick verdict: For around ₹5,999, you get an artificial-leather faceplate that actually feels premium, dual 40mm+10mm drivers with LDAC support, 45dB Adaptive ANC, and roughly 50-55 hours of real battery life with ANC off. It skips wear detection and the newest Bluetooth version, and neither one actually gets in the way at this price.

Design and build

The first thing I noticed wasn’t a feature, it was what’s missing: the branding. Most boAt headphones plaster their logo everywhere. This one barely has any, and that restraint is what makes it feel like a step up.

boAt Nirvana Eutopia 2 ANC design

The earcups use artificial leather instead of plastic, and it shows the moment you pick it up. It’s more delicate around sharp objects, so the included hard storage case earns its keep. The headband is flexible rather than stiff, and the whole thing folds down for a backpack.

boAt Nirvana Eutopia 2 ANC design

Comfort

I wore these for two-hour stretches without any pressure points. The cushions are soft, the headband doesn’t clamp, and glasses-wearers shouldn’t have issues either. It’s not a marathon-session headphone in the way a dedicated studio pair might be, but for daily commutes and work calls, it holds up fine.

Sound quality

boAt’s older headphones leaned hard into bass with the mids paying the price. This one doesn’t do that. The dual driver setup keeps bass tight and detailed instead of bleeding into the vocals, and the treble stays smooth without any sting.

boAt Nirvana Eutopia 2 ANC sound quality

The default EQ profile is still bass-forward, which most Indian listeners will like. I preferred Balance Mode myself, since it keeps the punch without letting it take over. Soundstage is genuinely wide for the price, helped by LDAC support and Hi-Res Audio certification.

boAt Nirvana Eutopia 2 ANC sound quality

One thing worth clearing up: LDAC and the 360 Audio spatial mode can’t run together. That’s not a bug, it’s how the codec and the spatial processing split bandwidth on every headphone that offers both. Use LDAC for music, switch to 360 Audio for movies and gaming.

ANC and mic quality

The 45dB Adaptive ANC is one of the better implementations I’ve used under ₹10,000. It cuts close to 70% of traffic and indoor fan/AC noise, and the passive isolation from the ear cushions is strong enough that I rarely needed to turn ANC on at all.

boAt Nirvana Eutopia 2 ANC app

The mic is a mixed bag. Indoors, voice comes through clear and loud. Outdoors, it still catches your voice well, but the larger mic capsule also picks up more ambient noise than a smaller one would. Fine for calls and meetings, not something I’d rely on for outdoor content recording.

Battery life

boAt claims 80 hours with ANC off and 50 hours with it on. My real numbers, tested over three days at 50% volume: about 50-55 hours without ANC, dropping to 20-25 hours with ANC running constantly or LDAC left on. It charges over USB-C and gets back to full in roughly 2.5 hours.

How it compares

Realme TechLife Studio H1 (~₹3,999) is the cheapest headphone in this fight by a wide margin, with LDAC, Hi-Res certification, 43dB Hybrid ANC, and a claimed 70-hour battery. But it has no companion app at all, confirmed by multiple hands-on reviews, so there’s no way to tweak EQ, ANC levels, or get firmware updates without a third-party equalizer app. Reviewers also found the default tuning bass-heavy with vocals that can feel recessed. For ₹2,000 less than the Eutopia 2, that’s the real trade-off: cheaper hardware, no software to fix it.

Realme TechLife Studio H1

Soundcore Q20i (~₹5,000, price swings hard in sales) is one of India’s most recommended budget ANC headphones, and TechGearLab’s lab testing measured roughly 25dB of real noise reduction, solid for the price, not class-leading. Where it actually falls apart is sound: testers called the tuning “bass-heavy, unbalanced, and muddy,” and said most budget rivals sound better. It also only unlocks Hi-Res over a wired AUX cable, there’s no LDAC over Bluetooth. Best ANC-per-rupee here, worst sound of the group.

Soundcore Q20i

Noise Master Buds Max (₹7,999-9,999) has genuinely good Bose-tuned sound, reviewers agree on that. But the ANC itself gets described as “effective without being noteworthy” rather than segment-leading, and testers noted it visibly lags catching up to outside noise when no music is playing. Transparency mode gets a similar shrug. Add the plastic build (“a step below premium”) and the missing 3.5mm jack, and the picture is less flattering than the marketing suggests: at nearly double the Eutopia 2’s price, you’re mainly paying for the Bose name and wear detection, not a meaningfully better ANC or in-hand feel.

EarFun Wave Pro (₹6,899) matches the Eutopia 2 almost spec for spec, same 45dB ANC class, same LDAC support, similar battery split. Reviewers flagged some ANC weakness at sub-bass frequencies and stability issues during movement, but called it excellent value overall. It’s the closest real rival on paper, just pricier and without the leather-look build.

OneOdio Focus A10 (₹6,479) has metal earcups and an actual transparency mode, and reviewers rated the build among the better ones in this range. But testers also said the ANC “could be a little stronger” and the transparency mode “could be more natural,” and it doesn’t officially list LDAC support.

CMF Headphone Pro (₹9,999) wins on raw numbers, 100 hours with ANC off, swappable earcups. But two separate reviews called the build “cheap, creaky plastic” and the headband “uncomfortable” for long sessions. It’s the opposite trade-off from the Eutopia 2: more spec sheet, less pleasant to actually wear.

JBL Tune 720BT (₹4,999) has no ANC at all, so it’s not really competing in this category. Worth a mention only if ANC isn’t a priority.

Who should buy this

Want to spend less and don’t mind losing app control: Realme TechLife Studio H1. Want the strongest ANC-for-rupee and don’t care about sound quality: Soundcore Q20i. Want Bose-tuned sound and wear detection, and don’t mind paying nearly double for it: Noise Master Buds Max. Everything else here either matches the Eutopia 2 and costs more (EarFun, CMF), or trades build quality for a spec sheet number (OneOdio, CMF). For the actual in-hand feel at ₹5,999, nothing on this list beats it.

Final Verdict

The boAt Nirvana Eutopia 2 ANC is the most premium-feeling headphone boAt has made, and it holds up against real rivals, not just on paper. The Realme TechLife Studio H1 undercuts it on price but loses app support, the Soundcore Q20i undercuts it on ANC strength but build and sounds not that good, and the Noise Master Buds Max beats it on battery and wear detection at nearly double the cost. None of them match the build feel. For ₹5,999, that’s still the easiest reason to pick the Boat Nirvana Eutopia 2 ANC

FAQ

No. Both need separate bandwidth, so you can use one at a time — LDAC for music, 360 Audio for movies and gaming.

Yes indoors, decent outdoors. It catches your voice clearly but picks up more background noise in loud outdoor settings.

Around 50-55 hours with ANC off at 50% volume, based on real testing. Expect 20-25 hours with ANC on continuously.

No. Music doesn’t pause automatically when you take it off.

For build quality and LDAC support, yes. For ANC strength (50dB) and water resistance (IPX5), the Airwave Max 5 has an edge.
