Xiaomi has just announced the all new Xiaomi Pad 5 for the global markets after it was launched in China last month. The Xiaomi Pad 5 tablet boasts an 11-inch 2.5K/WQXA LCD screen with a higher refresh rate of 120 Hz, and a touch sampling rate of 240 Hz with support for both HDR 10 and Dolby Vision. The screen is a TrueTone True color display, certification for TUV Rheinland Low Blue Light hardware scheme, and blue light reduction.
The Xiaomi Pad 5 is powered by the octa-core Snapdragon 860 SoC built on the 7nm architecture with Adreno 640 GPU. The processor is complemented with 6 GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256 gigs of UFS 3.1 storage. The tablet runs on MiUI for Tab based on Android 11 out of the box. The Xiaomi Pad 5 also supports the Xiaomi Smart Pen that has a pressure sensitivity of 4096, a touch sampling rate of 240 Hz, and weighs about 12 grams. The Smart Pen has several features that can boost your productivity like function keys for taking key notes quickly, switching between the pen and eraser, and you can also take screenshots with the pen.
The Xiaomi Pad 5 has a single back camera of 13 MP with support for 4K video recording. You also get a front facing 5 MP camera with support for recording videos in 1080p. The tablet looks quite premium and sleek, thanks to its design which is only 6.85 mm thick. The tablet weighs about 511 grams, and has a quad speaker setup with support for Dolby Atmos sound. The smart tablet does not have a 3.5mm jack, and you need to use the USB Type-C port for connecting your wired headphones.
In terms of connectivity options, you get support for Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, GLONASS, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS, BeiDou, QZSS, and a USB Type-C port which is also used for charging. The phone draws its power from a 8,720 mAh battery with support for 22.5W fast charging.
Xiaomi Pad 5: Pricing and Availability
The Xiaomi Pad 5 would be offered in two colour variants: Pearl White, and Cosmic Gray. The base 6GB + 128 GB variant is priced at 349 Euros or approximately Rs. 30,000 whereas the higher end variant with 256 gigs storage is priced at 399 Euros or approx Rs. 34,500. Xiaomi is offering an introductory offer, and you can get the Pad 5 for 299 Euros for the first 24 hours starting from when it goes on sale. The Pad 5 would be offered in various European countries including France, Spain, Italy, and Germany.
