Moto G Play 2021: Earlier this year Motorola in India has launched its Moto G9 Play which did not really turn a lot of heads in the market. Moto G9 Play was launched with a 64 MP triple rear camera and Snapdragon 662 onboard. Recent reports have revealed that Motorola is in the works of releasing a successor to the Moto G9 Play. Now, Moto G Play (2021) was spotted on the Google Play Console listing revealing a few key specifications of the device.

Google Play Console reveals that the Moto G Play (2021) could be codenamed as “Guama”. And according to the listing, the device comes with an HD+ resolution display of 720 x 1600 pixels. The pixel density of this display is 280 PPI. Under the hood, the device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 SoC coupled with 3 or 4 GB of RAM. Moto G Play (2021) runs Android 10 out of the box and the list has also revealed the image of the device.

The device comes with a 2018-ish look with a waterdrop notch and thick bezels. As usual, the volume rockers and power key are located on the right side of the device. It is worth noting that Google Play Console is not always accurate with the images of the unreleased devices. But then again, the image here seems accurate as the clock widget belongs to Moto devices. Google Play Console did not reveal much except for the aforementioned info.

Weeks back, the Moto G Play (2021) passed through the Geekbench benchmarking platform where the device is identified as running Snapdragon 662 SoC. Geekbench also revealed that the device runs Android 10 out of the box and comes with 3 GB of RAM. The confusion does not end here. As mentioned earlier, the Moto G Play 2021 is reported to be the successor for Moto G9 Play which comes with a Full HD display and Snapdragon 662 SoC. If the specifications of the Moto G Play (2021) on Google Play Listing stand true, then next year’s Moto G Play is obviously a downgrade from this year’s G9 Play.

At this time, we are not really sure what Motorola is hiding under its sleeve with its Moto G Play series. We expect that the company will launch two variants this time where the standard variant comes with Snapdragon 460 and the Plus or the Pro variant comes with Snapdragon 662. The Plus or the Pro variant could be the successor for this year’s Moto G9 Play.
