Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2

Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2

The Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 is a phone that is sold at an aggressive price with plenty of features loaded in. And that’s why is my second choice on the list of the best phone under 10000 Rs.

On the design front, the Max Pro M2 has a glossy glass-like arched back that not only looks pleasing to the eyes but also ensures great in-hand feel. There’s an overall premium feel to this device and it looks much better than most of the smartphone in the same price segment. It has curved sides, which makes it comfortable to hold. What is surprising is that the phone does not feel heavy or bulky in spite of its big battery.

The Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2  features FHD+ 6.26 inches Full-view Notch Display with a screen resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels, 19:9 Aspect Ratio. Overall, it’s among the finest IPS LCD panels in this price range. It is also the first smartphone in the price range to feature Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection.

This smartphone runs on Android Oreo 8.1 operating system but has promised to roll out an Android Pie update in January 2019. The device is powered by powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 Octa-Core processor paired with 3/4/6 GB of RAM. With its Adreno 512 GPU, you can play 4k videos, games with lag-free graphics. It has 32/64 GB of internal storage options, which can be extended up to 2 TB.

For the photos, Max Pro has a 12+5MP dual camera setup with LED Flash, Sony IMX486 sensor, PDAF, 1.25μm pixel size, f/1.8 aperture. It has a 13-megapixel front-facing camera with soft LED flash, AI scene detection and f/2.0 aperture. It can capture decent photos somewhere similar to its competitors. It can record videos at 4K resolution and video quality is enormous at this price point. I feel that low night camera performance was ordinary and Night mode was not so competent. Selfie camera captures a good amount of details and front flash worked great in low lighting conditions.

One of the highlights of the ZenFone Max Pro M2 is the big 5000 mAH battery, can comfortably last for more than a day or a day and a half. The company mentions that the phone supports fast charging, but it takes around two and a half hours to completely charge.

Realme 3

Realme 3

If you are looking for a good looking phone with decent performance then Realme 3 is the best choice. Realme 3 comes in two colours– Dynamic Black and Radiant Blue. Both variants look classy and nothing less than a premium phone.

The Realme 3 comes with Dewdrop notch display, which brings up the screen-to-body ratio to 88.3 percent. The screen is 6.22 inches with a resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels. I had no complaints with the display. It is bright, has great viewing angles and the text is clear even under direct sunlight.

The phone runs on ColorOS 6.0 which is based on the Android 9 Pie. On the processing side, it has a 2.1 GHz MediaTek Helio P70 processor and 3 GB/4 GB options. For storage, the device comes with 32 GB/64 GB of Internal memory and an option to increase the memory up to 256 GB. The most popular game PUBG had very little load time, and by default, it played on mid-graphic settings.

The Realme 3 has a 13 MP + 2 MP Dual Rear camera that comes with f/1.8 aperture, AI features and Autofocus. The primary camera to be decent in good lighting conditions. Though colours look natural, detailing, sharpness and dynamic range are decent. The front 13 MP camera with AI capabilities is also average. Selfies missed the natural skin tone, which says camera needs improvement, if possible through a software update.

The battery on Realme 3 lasts close to two days on medium uses. And the phone does not support fast charging and takes more than two hours to get a full charge.

Samsung Galaxy M10

Samsung finally thought of Indian customers and launched its most waited Budget segment phone M2 in the market.

The design of the smartphone is impressive the notch itself might be considered as an attention-seeking design element, the notch is to allow a screen that occupies more of the front. Build quality seems quite OK for the price and matches the competition.

The Samsung Galaxy M10 has a large 6.22-inch HD+ Infinity V Display with 82.1% screen-to-body ratio and a resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels. The display looks bright with good colour reproduction, text looks sharp and offers good viewing angle too.

On the processing side, it has a 1.6GHz Exynos 7870 octa-core processor with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of Internal storage and it comes with a dedicated SD card slot which can take cards up to 512 GB. Talking about casual usage, the phone performed well up to my expectation. But when it comes to gaming, it’s just average, since this has Mali-G71 MP2 GPU that is not powerful compared to Adreno 509 or Adreno 512. So if you planning to buy a phone for gaming, then go for Redmi note 7.

It runs Android Oreo v8.1 OS with Samsung Experience 9.5 (more refined compared to previous). On the camera side, It has 13 MP main sensor with an f/1.9 aperture and a 5 MP secondary sensor with an f/2.2 aperture, which allows you to take an ultra-wide-angle photo. You also get a 5 MP f/2.0 selfie camera, with both the front and rear cameras capable of recording full-HD video.

The 3400mAh Li-Po battery of this smartphone is rated to last for a day worth of heavy usage. On charging time, it takes over 2 and half hours to reach 100% from 0%.

The phone is powered by Kirin 659 Octa-Core processor with 3GB/4GB RAM. For storage, you have 32GB/64GB internal memory, which can expandable up to 256GB with a Hybrid slot. The Kirin 659 is a decent chipset, but not too powerful like Snapdragon 660 or even 636.

On the software side, it comes with the EMUI 8.0 on top of Android Oreo 8.1. EMUI have lot of useful features such as ride mode, Party mode and game mode that enhances the overall usability of this phone.
