Apple and Meta shared users’ data with hackers, who Impersonating Law Enforcement

It sounds funny, but it happened. The world’s largest technology giants Apple and Meta have reportedly handed users’ data to hackers impersonating authorities. According to a report by Bloomberg. The slip-up happened in mid-2021, with both company Apple and Facebook falling for the phoney requests and providing information about users’ IP addresses, phone numbers, email and home addresses.

Law enforcement officials often request data from any social platform or tech company in connection with criminal investigations, allowing them to obtain information about the particular account owner. Normally, such requests are only provided with a search warrant or subpoena signed by a court, according to the people. However, emergency requests don’t require a court order.

Another company Snap Inc also received the same legal request from the same hackers, but it isn’t known whether the company provided data in the response or not. It’s also not clear how many times these companies or other platforms provided data prompted by forged legal requests.

Hackers affiliated with a cybercrime group known as the “Recursion Team” are believed to be behind some of the forged legal requests n the US and UK, which were sent to companies throughout 2021, according to the three persons who are involved in the investigation.

The Recursion Hacker group is no longer active, but many of its members continue to carry out hacks under different names, including as part of Lapsus$, according to a report.

iPhone SE 3 Launched With 5G Support, A15 Bionic Chipset. Started At 43900 Rs.

After too many rumours and leaks, Apple’s new affordable iPhone SE 3 is finally here, the successor of the iPhone SE 2 that was introduced back in 2020 comes with a 4.7-inch HD Retain display with Haptic Touch and still retains the Touch ID fingerprint sensor below the display. However, the new SE 3 replaces the A13 Bionic with the A15 Bionic and also adds 5G support.

iPhone SE 3 Specifications:

The new iPhone Se 3 has one major highlight, which is the 5G network support. As expected, the SE 3 is powered by the A15 Bionic chipset also found on the latest iPhone 13 series. As usual, there’s no word on the phone’s RAM and storage, but we expect to get details on this soon. For storage, we have three options: 64GB, 128GB and 256GB storage.

In the photography department, there is a 12 MP rear camera with 4k video recording with features such as Smart HDR4, Photographic Styles, Deep Fusion, and Portrait mode, and a 7MP selfie camera with up to 1080p HD video recording.

On the design front, there is nothing new. The iPhone SE 3 takes design cues from its predecessor and features an iPhone 8-like design, which means you get thick bezels and the same single rear camera module.

iPhone SE 3 Launched

The display size also remains the same, maybe some users like compact 4.7-inch screen size, but the majority of users think it’s too obsolete for 2022. It has a Haptic Touch and still retains the Touch ID fingerprint sensor below the screen. It is a layer made of glass and ceramic for better protection from drops or accidents.

The new iPhone SE 2022 comes with improved battery life. It also supports wireless charging and fast charging.

Price and Availability

The new iPhone SE 3 comes in three different colours: Midnight, Starlight and RED. Coming to price, It starts at $429 (around 32900 Rs), which is higher than the $399 price tag of the old iPhone SE 2.
The SE 3 will be available to buy, starting March 18. And the pre-order will start on March 11.

Clash of Titans: The A14 Bionic Chip vs A15 Bionic Chip, What’s The Update

Apple has just launched the all-new iPhone 13 series and the iPad mini that is powered by the A15 Bionic Chip which Apple claims to be a significant upgrade over the A14 Bionic chip used on the Apple iPhone 12 Series. Apple has revealed a lot of information about the all-new A15 Bionic Chip, but how does the A15 Bionic Chip compare with the A14 Bionic chip? This is what we will be answering in this article, and point out the differences between the two chips. But before we get to that part, we need to understand why the A14 and the A15 Bionic Chips are the most advanced smartphone SoCs currently.

A15 chip

The A14 and A15 Bionic Chips serve as the central processor, neural engine, and even graphics card for the iPhones. Although Apple designs, and develops the chips, these raw silicon chips based on the 5nm technology are provided by the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company or TSMC. The A14 and A15 Bionic Chips deploy several complementary systems that work in sync with each other to provide that powerful performance, which cannot be compared to any other smartphone chip on the planet. The A14 Bionic Chip is nearly 29% faster than its nearest competitor, the Snapdragon 888 chipset. Although we do not have the performance scores for the A15, we can expect the performance to be even better.

How is the A15 Bionic Chip different from the A14 Bionic Chipset?

One of the major differences between the A14 Bionic Chip and the A15 chip is the architecture used in designing them. Although both these chips are built on the 5nm technology, there are nearly 15 billion transistors in the A15 Bionic when compared to the 11.8 billion transistors used in the A14 chipset. The added number of transistors would certainly boost the performance of the chipset. Although Apple has not declared the performance numbers for the A15 chipset, it claims that the newer chip is about 50% faster than the competition.

A14 Bionic Chip vs A15 Bionic Chip

Another upgrade that Apple talked about a lot in its event was the improvement the company made in iPhone’s neural engines, which would improve its machine learning capabilities. This means that AI features like Siri, and photography would be better in iPhone 13 when compared to iPhone 12.

At last, the A14 Bionic Chip was great, but it seems like the A15 Bionic Chip is going to be even better.

iPhone 13 might come with in-display fingerprint sensor: Apple is working on its next-generation iPhones which will arrive later this year. A lot of rumours in the past suggested that the iPhone 13 lineup is not going to bring any ground-breaking upgrades or changes over the last year’s iPhone 12 series, given the changes company had brought with previous year’s iPhones. But according to the recent reports, the Cupertino-based tech giant is bringing the most-awaited and requested feature over the years.

iPhone 13 might come with in-display fingerprint

iphone-13-might-come-with-in-display-fingerprint

According to a report from Bloomberg, Apple is testing an in-display fingerprint sensor for iPhone 13. While most Android manufacturers relied on the in-display fingerprint sensor technology, it has become a standard on any smartphone today. On the other hand, Apple discontinued its Touch ID and started using Face ID on its mainline iPhone series of smartphones.

Although it has been an excellent run for the Face ID, this goes without saying — Face ID has become the most useless thing in the Coronavirus situation where the wearing mask has become the new normal, and the iPhone cannot scan your face. For the same reason, Apple has finally decided to bring back the Touch ID, and the report also claims that Apple might still keep the Face ID. This is our take on iPhone 13 might come with in-display fingerprint sensor, for more iPhone 13 coverage, stay tuned!

At it was a special event tonight, Apple has released three new Macs with the new Apple M1 chip. There’s the new MacBook Air and the new MacBook Pro, and then the new Mac Mini also gets the M1 treatment.

As we have expected, the M1 chip improves the performance which we have expected from a Mac Mini. In fact, Apple claims that the Mac Mini is now three times faster than the CPU and has six times faster graphics than the previous generation quad-core Mac Mini. The new M1 chip facilitates machine learning 15 times faster than the previous generation Mac Mini.

New Mac Mini

For I / O, the Mac Mini requires all the ports it needs. The back of the device has a 3.5mm headphone jack with two USB Type-A ports, two Thunderbolt ports, an Ethernet port, and an HDMI port. Additionally, the Mac Mini now supports the Pro Display XDR in its full 6K resolution for faster Thunderbolt ports.

The Mac Mini doesn’t have much to talk about because it’s basically a compact desktop, but Apple claims that the performance improvements from this machine are very impressive.

The new Mac mini with M1 chip is priced at 64,900 Rs for the 256GB version and the 512GB version costs 84,900 Rs. This is a lot cheaper than the Intel version. It is already available to order from Apple online store and will be available from Apple Authorised Resellers offline and online in India soon.

Apple just launched New MacBook Air with Apple M1 Chip and up to 18h battery life, starts at Rs. 92900

Finally, that day has arrived. After teasing him in June at WWDC 2020, Apple today finally unveiled its first in-house Apple Silicon: MacBook Air with Apple M1 SoC. The new Apple Air looks just like the current MacBook Air, with the same Retina display 13-inch, but it brings updates under the hood thanks to the new Apple M1 chipset.

MacBook Air

The new MacBook Air comes with the new Apple M1 chipset, an 8-core processor, combined with an 8-core GPU, and a 16-core neural engine. Apple claims that the MacBook Air is now three times faster than the best-selling Windows laptop in its class, and more than 98% of Windows laptops sold this year that is a big claim.

The MacBook Air is now fanless anyway, and Apple is confident that the M1 can maintain its performance on the MacBook Air without any active cooling, which I would like to see while turning it on. Anyway, when coming back to the MacBook Air it comes with 16GB of RAM and 2TB SSD. Apple also says that the SSD is now the M1’s storage controller and faster flash memory than before, which says something when looking at the SSD in the MacBook Air is also fast.

The company is also now improving the FaceTime HD camera. Thanks to the new ISP in the M1, MacBook Air’s webcam video quality will improve, and also noise reduction has improved, a higher dynamic range, and better white balance. For I / O you get two Thunderbolt ports for USB 4.

As we expected, the battery life improves with the new M1 chip. Apple claims that the MacBook Air will run for 15 hours of web browsing and 18 hours of video playback. They are not the best metrics to judge battery life, but Apple always tells us so. However, these numbers are much better than the previous generation MacBook Air.

Pricing and availability

The new Apple MacBook Air with M1 chip comes in Gold, Silver and Space Grey colour variants, is priced at 92,900 Rs for the 256GB storage version, which is same as the Intel version that was introduced earlier this year. The 512GB version costs 1,17,900 Rs which is even cheaper than the earlier model. It is already available to order from Apple online store and will be available from Apple Authorised Resellers offline and online retailers in India soon.
